Accessibility Statement

1. Conformance Status

This website (globalbus.pt) is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partial conformance means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard. Known non-conformances are identified in section 2 and are being addressed.

2. Non-Accessible Content

The following issues have been identified as not yet in full conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA criteria and are being resolved:

• Some pages may contain isolated instances of insufficient colour contrast for smaller text sizes that have not yet been fully audited.
• Detailed alternative descriptions for product images for users with severe visual impairment are not yet implemented.

3. Accessibility Measures Implemented

The following accessibility improvements have been applied to this website:

• All icon-only action buttons have an accessible name (aria-label and title), enabling identification by screen readers and tooltip display on hover.
• All 'read more' links on news pages include the article title in the accessible label, allowing screen reader users to distinguish between them.
• Text colour contrast ratios corrected to meet WCAG 2.1 AA criterion 1.4.3 (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text; 3:1 for large text).
• Footer links with distinct destinations now have distinct accessible names, removing ambiguity for screen reader users.
• Decorative or non-functional content marked with aria-hidden="true", removing it from the accessibility tree.

4. Preparation of This Statement

This statement was prepared in June 2026. The assessment was carried out through self-evaluation using the Google Chrome Lighthouse tool (version 126) and manual source code review, including inspection of ARIA attributes, colour contrast ratios and HTML semantic structure. The next review is scheduled for June 2027.
